How a spin pays
Six reels, five rows, no paylines. A win is five or more of the same symbol touching up, down, left or right, anywhere on the grid. When a cluster pays, Hacksaw’s Super Cascade removes not just the winning symbols but every symbol of that type on the grid, and new ones drop in. The chain continues until no new win forms.
| Symbol | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9–10 | 11–12 | 13+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Top hat | 1x | 1.5x | 2x | 3x | 10x | 30x | 100x |
| Baguettes | 0.5x | 0.7x | 1x | 1.5x | 5x | 15x | 50x |
| Beer mug | 0.5x | 0.7x | 1x | 1.5x | 5x | 15x | 50x |
| Cheese | 0.3x | 0.4x | 0.5x | 0.7x | 2.5x | 7.5x | 25x |
| Bear trap | 0.3x | 0.4x | 0.5x | 0.7x | 2.5x | 7.5x | 25x |
| A, K, Q, J, 10 | 0.1x | 0.2x | 0.3x | 0.5x | 1.5x | 5x | 15x |
The wild is a reward poster of the raccoon and stands in for every paying symbol. The scatter, marked FS, is a Polaroid camera. On the table alone this would be a gentle game: a five-symbol cluster pays a tenth of the bet to one times the bet. The bigger pays come from the Golden Squares.
Golden Squares and the Rainbow
This feature drives the game’s biggest pays. From Hacksaw’s in-game rules:
- Every winning position turns gold. After a cluster pays, the squares behind the winning symbols are marked as Golden Squares. A long cascade chain therefore leaves a lot of gold behind.
- A Rainbow activates them. If a Rainbow symbol is on the grid once all wins are paid, every Golden Square reveals a coin, and some reveal a Four-Leaf Clover or a Pot of Gold instead.
- Coins are cash, in multiples of the bet. Bronze: 0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x or 4x. Silver: 5x, 10x, 15x or 20x. Gold: 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x or 500x.
- Clovers multiply their neighbours. Each Four-Leaf Clover multiplies the coins and Pots of Gold on the squares next to it by x2, x3, x4, x5 or x10.
- Pots of Gold collect. Each Pot takes the value of every coin and every other Pot on the grid, working top to bottom and left to right.
- Then it goes round again. After the last Pot has collected, the remaining Golden Squares reveal new symbols, and the process repeats until no new Pot of Gold appears.
At the end of the spin, every coin and Pot is added up and multiplied by the bet. In the base game the Golden Squares are then cleared; without a Rainbow on the same spin, they go with nothing extra paid. SlotCatalog’s experience is that lighting squares up is the easy part and landing the Rainbow the hard one.

The three bonuses
All three are triggered by FS scatters landing together in the base game. The number of scatters picks the bonus.
| Bonus | Trigger | Spins | What changes | Buy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Luck of the Bandit | 3 FS | 8 | Golden Squares stay lit between spins until a Rainbow activates them | 100x |
| All That Glitters Is Gold | 4 FS | 12 | Golden Squares stay lit for the whole bonus, even after a Rainbow has used them | 250x |
| Treasure at the End of the Rainbow | 5 FS | 12 | As above, plus a Rainbow guaranteed on every spin and no Bronze Coins | not for sale |
In the first two bonuses, more scatters add spins: two FS give 2 extra spins and three give 4. Landing four during Luck of the Bandit upgrades it on the spot to All That Glitters Is Gold, with 4 more spins. Hacksaw’s own game page says three scatters give 3 extra spins; its in-game rules say 4, and so do Bigwinboard and AboutSlots, so we go with the rules. The rules describe no extra spins for Treasure at the End of the Rainbow.
The bonuses differ mainly in how long the gold lasts. In Luck of the Bandit a Rainbow uses the squares up. In the two 12-spin bonuses every Golden Square stays for the rest of the round, so each new Rainbow activates a board that keeps growing. Treasure at the End of the Rainbow also guarantees a Rainbow on every spin and drops Bronze Coins.

RTP and volatility
| RTP | Casino keeps | Average cost of 1,000 × $1 spins |
|---|---|---|
| 96.34% (default) | 3.66% | $36.60 |
| 94.23% | 5.77% | $57.70 |
| 92.17% | 7.83% | $78.30 |
| 88.36% | 11.64% | $116.40 |
The four versions are Hacksaw’s own figures. Casinos rarely say which version they run, but the game’s rules screen states the RTP of the version you are playing. Hacksaw rates Le Bandit 3 out of 5 for volatility, and a win lands on roughly one spin in three. Bigwinboard, which agrees with the medium label, still said it had “quite a swingy temperament at times”, which fits a game whose biggest pays depend on a Rainbow turning up at the right moment.
Bonus buy and FeatureSpins
| Option | Price | What you get | RTP | Average loss |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BonusHunt FeatureSpins | 3x per spin | Each spin five times as likely to trigger a bonus | 96.28% | 0.11x a spin |
| Rainbow FeatureSpins | 50x per spin | A Rainbow guaranteed on every spin | 96.36% | 1.82x a spin |
| Luck of the Bandit | 100x | The 8-spin bonus | 96.30% | 3.70x |
| All That Glitters Is Gold | 250x | The 12-spin bonus | 96.40% | 9.00x |
FeatureSpins stay on
The two FeatureSpins options are modes, not one-off purchases. Hacksaw’s rules say they remain active, charging the higher price on every spin, until you press Disable. At 50x a spin, forgetting that is expensive.
Treasure at the End of the Rainbow cannot be bought. SlotCatalog says the buy menu is not offered in the UK; Hacksaw’s own page does not mention regions.
The 10,000x cap
Hacksaw’s rules say the max win can be reached in the base game and in all three bonuses, and describe the route: winning combinations that light up as many positions as possible, then a Rainbow whose coins, clovers and Pots of Gold add up to 10,000x. When the cap is hit, the round ends at once and any free spins left are lost. Bigwinboard and SlotCatalog put the odds at about 1 in 14 million spins.

Big wins on record
- Roshtein, $3,021,900 at $1,500 a spin (about 2,015x), in All That Glitters Is Gold, August 2023. roshtein.com says the first six spins were “pretty dead” before Rainbow spins paid $369,600, then $2,430,000, then $220,500.
- Roshtein, $1,343,500 at $1,000, from an 8-spin Luck of the Bandit earlier the same day, almost all of it from one Rainbow three spins from the end.
- Roshtein, $5,157,800, in a free-spins bonus reported in January 2024. The bet is not stated. His clip title on this site, “5157X”, would mean $1,000 a spin, but that is the title talking, not a source.
- FrankDimes, $100,000 at $10: the max win in the screenshot above.
- tatoyann, $7,984.80 from a $4 stake (1,996x), in VegasSlotsOnline’s Big Win Wednesday of 23 October 2024.
Roshtein’s own stream overlay on 28 August 2023 showed his best Le Bandit result at that point as $2,414,360 and 6,035x, which matches his clip titled “6035x Le Bandit | personal best !” in the row below. We found no written source for the other big titles in our clips, so treat their figures as the streamers’ own.

The written reports come from streamer-owned or affiliate news sites, and the rest from stream footage; none comes from casinos or Hacksaw. Clips show the hits; the thousands of spins that paid nothing are not in them.
The Le series
Le Bandit introduced the raccoon, Smokey, and Hacksaw has built a family around him. Its slots page listed 17 “Le” titles when we checked on 7 November 2026. A few worth knowing:
- Le Pharaoh (26 Sep 2024): 19 paylines, 15,000x. Bigwinboard notes that is 50% more than Le Bandit’s cap.
- Le King (26 Jun 2025): cluster pays and 20,000x; Bigwinboard calls it “a high-powered upgrade of the original Le Bandit”.
- Le Cowboy (6 Nov 2025): cluster pays, up to 25,000x.
- Le Bandit Hold & Win (15 Sep 2026): a 3x3 remake with nine paylines and a 2,500x cap.
- Le Clubber (3 Nov 2026): Bigwinboard calls it “a digit-for-digit clone of the original raccoon hit Le Bandit”, with the same bonus structure.
If you like the Western end of Hacksaw’s catalogue, our Wanted Dead or a Wild guide and 2 Wild 2 Die guide are the next stops.
Questions people ask
What is the RTP of Le Bandit?
96.34% in its default version. Hacksaw also supplies 94.23%, 92.17% and 88.36% versions, and the casino chooses which one it runs.
What is the max win in Le Bandit?
10,000 times the bet, per round. Hacksaw's rules say it can be reached in the base game and in all three bonuses; Bigwinboard and SlotCatalog put the odds at about 1 in 14 million.
How do you trigger the bonus in Le Bandit?
With FS scatter symbols in the base game: three give Luck of the Bandit (8 free spins), four give All That Glitters Is Gold (12 free spins), and five give Treasure at the End of the Rainbow (12 free spins).
What do the Golden Squares do?
Every position that is part of a win is marked with a Golden Square. If a Rainbow is on the grid, it turns those squares into coins, Four-Leaf Clovers or Pots of Gold, and their values are paid on top of the cluster wins.
Can you buy Treasure at the End of the Rainbow?
No. Hacksaw's page says it cannot be purchased; it only comes from five FS scatters in the base game.
Is Le Bandit high volatility?
Not on Hacksaw's scale, which rates it 3 out of 5. A win lands on about one spin in three (32.47%, per Bigwinboard and SlotCatalog), though Bigwinboard found it swingy at times.
